IT - Arora, optional flash

The advantage of open source software is that when there is an idea useful, a feature that you would like to implement, we can discuss it directly with the developers of the software project. This is impossible to use proprietary software where hierarchies do not allow business in most cases interact with the workflow of creating the software.

I never tire of emphasizing these positive aspects of open source software because I think it is essential that the legitimate and that most people (or at least most of those who use a computer) should know.

Although the implementation of this idea is not new as there are already firefox extensions that do, see it implemented in a lightweight, high browser compatibility as Arora, cross platform (and therefore usable for Mac, Linux and windows in the same way) and light, is surely pleased.

To use these features do not have to do is install Arora ( For Windows, Mac, Linux For is present in all repositories) and you will see that instead of the classic flash movies you will see a button "load flash", allowing download the movie only at your explicit request! No more intrusive advertising, no more endless pages from loading!

not often that I will be blogging about the new features introduced in KDE 4.3, expected late this summer, but this really deserves an exception. Thanks to the work of David Nolden and help from Fredrik Höglund, KDE, or better left to the application file management, dolphin, has gained the ability to show previews of the contents of folders. This feature allows you to easily find the folder we are looking not only by the name of the folder itself or comment to the folder that we have left the possibility of using semantic annotation files, but also in a visual way, generating randomly some previews from the contents of folders. Moreover, by placing the mouse pointer over a folder, the preview of the icons will begin to change sub pages randomly, giving a much better chance to easily find content without getting in each folder!
